JENNIFER JONES

If you have been coming to the Skellig website for years, you have read aspirational words from us about building a platform for engineers to do good work. We did that. It was a blast. Every character who entered our orbit changed us for the better. The next level looks like platforming others to improve it, make it more efficient, and progress the culture.

Working at Skellig has allowed me to experience what work could be like with a boss that was inherently kind and ethical, and enabled you because he also genuinely believed in attempting to be disruptive in a progressive and positive way.

Skellig has been an outlet to experiment with the change that we wished to see in the world. We hire for culture over tech, but end up attracting and retaining that beautiful, elusive center of the Venn Diagram, filled with some of the most impressive people I’ve ever met. The engineers that work here restore my faith in humanity, and the faith that our industry will progress, or we will progress it. Skellig looks and feels a lot like it was built by an immigrant and a woman because it was. We know the value.

Otherwise, I love being a mother to the most delightful toddler, Goldie. Shout out to my mom and dad, who instilled the values of patience, kindness, wit, and curse words in me, as well as the education system in rural Pennsylvania for giving me the agility and ability to fake knowing Excel until it got phased out… because I knew it would, I just didn’t think it would take this long.
